For the first time, the army is getting involved in the political state of affairs and government, and the comment by the AFC Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal marks an unprecedented developments in BolehLand.

What is the hint, message and signal to common citizens to all law abiding citizens Is the army allowed to make such comment or issue such statements? Has there been any blessing from the gomen, particularly the Minister of Defence or are they all overseas looking at sawi and kai lan being grown in Taiwan? Does this remark has the blessing of the Supreme Commander of the Malaysian Armed Forces, DYMM Agong?

Is it a veiled threat to anyone thinking of upsetting the status quo? Which groups are causing tension and threats to the peace and security of BolehLand? Thought the armed forces would train their attention to getting our hostages back in the Gulf than to issue such statements which smacks on interference and more concern is possibly rattling investor's confidence that the military will be poking its nose or rather the barrel of the gun into the civil and political affair of BolehLand? Is ABB and the DPM losing control or did they give their blessings?

If one scans the MSMedia, the group making the loudest noise and causing uneasiness are the BN parties while Pakatan has more important issue to focus on, Sep 16 for one? So every branch of government is issuing warning to troublemakers, but who are they? Politicians who cross over, Pakatan government who are carrying out populist policies, bloggers, RPK? MSM seem to portray the Pakatan as troublemakers while the gomen particularly the Home Minister is playing God, using the anti-Islam red flag to tag those who have differing views while the BN, namely UMNO have this delusion that the best way to retain power and status quo is to establish an Utopian society of BolehLanders who have a one track mentality, thinking and behaviour and an Orwellian society where Big Brother watches all and know all - this seems the way to fix things right!

As the dead Red leader MST said,(let me qualify what I am about to quote him that it is in the context of democracy that cannot be imposed or flourish at the barrel of the gun, lest I will be branded as a communist which I am not as I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO that ideology and I subscribe to the noble principles of democrary)"All political power comes from the barrel of a gun" and we hope this WILL NEVER BE THE CASE FOR OUR BELOVED COUNTRY which has enough laws to put anyone away for any conceivable action.

The army chief's statement surely adds more anxiety to the already muddled political scenario in BolehLand. Backbenchers going on study tours when 'Rome, I mean KL seems burning' with flames of anger from opportunitist parties and vested interest groups at insensitive politicians and its people suffering from inflation and making ends meet.

While the global economy seeks to find solutions to get out of the rut, BolehLand seems to be going into a rut as a solution to retain the 'status quo!' I feel I am living a day to day existence, unsure what tomorrow brings. Shame on the politicians and governments both BN and Pakatan who are using the citizens to justify their actions as well as pawns in their effort to consolidation their power or salvaging what is left. The BN is still trying to figure out what happened is it? Gosh with all the think tank (tanks included) they profess to have and what happened to the Anti to the Anti Inflation Council? they still have not really got into getting on with the business of governing. Why are they so cowed with the threat of defection or losing power on Sep 16 if they believe as they convince us that the rakyat has selected them to be the rightful government?

Pakatan is trying to chase one man's dream and also afflicted with the handicap of lack of funding from the federal BN controlled government to bring development because of the unfair allocation of federal budget. We have yet to see a collective effort to show we are Malaysians, even the Merdeka Celebrations were celebrated along political affiliations. This is so sick and we try to show to the world there is harmony and unity when the two governments can't put their differences aside to celebrate our independence together and each of them are now saying they contributed to the development of the nation! There is just NO RESPECT and TOLERANCE of each other, BN or Pakatan likewise!

So while each political party continues to be at loggerheads, one hopes that today's statement by the army chief will set them to look up and listen if the roar of tanks are rumbling into their courtyard to establish law and order. In what context this will happen is anyone's guess I suppose, but whatever the context WE MUST NEVER ALLOW THE TANKS TO ROLL INTO OUR STREETS OR THE ARMED FORCES BE USED against our own citizens, migrants or no migrants status it does not matter.

So we hope the gomen will clarify, what context the army chief's statement was made and whether it should have been said. We hope that sanity prevail and WE MUST NEVER JOIN the rest of our Asean brothers and the ranks of third world countries where the barrel of the gun is the rule of law and the army having a habit of conveniently meddling into civilian affairs. Do we want that? Not me...

So is the AFC's statement a gauntlet thrown at their feet of BN and Pakatan, bloggers, anti=Islamic elements, and all those deemed 'threats' to peace and harmony as identified by the Minister of Home Affairs, supported by the MSMediA and reinforced by specifically UMNOputras? Time will tell but how long is anyone's guess?

In Any Context I Am Right

So our AI is given blessings by his leaders he has done no wrong as he who also said the remark 'migrant' was said in a preMerdeka context... stating a historical fact!

OK I am a migrant, a second class citizen, a descendant of a long forgotten mandarin class from north or was it central china? such class distinction has no privilege in BolehLand, I am a migrant, one that was given citizenship courtesy of the sons-of-the-soil (sots).

No! no! the tribal groups have no right to be the first settlers here probably they came from somewhere while the sots are the first settlers of BolehLand-no one can debate or argue against this 'historical' fact at least according to the sots.

So when that UMNOputra sots Ahmad socked it to me that I am a migrant, who am I to argue, it's a historical fact. So the sots prefer to live in the past and relish the glory of their yesteryears, gloating in the supremacy of the Sultanate! stuck in the past and still believing being in a progressive modern era.

So using the same logic, one cannot brand his a 'racist' or insensitive to other races. Why all the huha about it if it was said in the 'context' of a historical fact. Since the government has put things in perspective, then no one is a 'racist' if we qualify it 'in preMerdeka, historical, hey what about archaeological or shall we throw in Jurassic context'!

So shall we start calling a particular group 'drunks' 'lazy' 'thieves' 'gangsters' 'thugs' 'mamaks' whatever and then protect our asses by saying 'in a historical context'.

So what about if we appeal to 'in a sociological context', in a 'religious context' 'in an anthropological context'? are we allowed to label groups using adjectives that fit into the 'context'.

Remember the Kera Jantan who labelled Hindraf supporters as 'beruk', what 'context' was he using? Well he has suddenly made himself as the most level headed politician reminding the elders to 'watch what you say' and they 'should not seek to be champions of their race merely to fish for votes during party elections' NST, Sep 8, 2008. OK he has short memory of what he did in P.Pauh but what he said cannot be construed as hypocritical because he is saying it 'in the context of the racial remark by Ahmad', right?

So in the 'constitutional context' I AM A MALAYSIAN and not a migrant you STUPID SOB! I SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO USE EXPLETIVES TO ANYONE WHO CALLS ME ANYTHING LESS IN THE 'CONTEXT OF THE CONSTITUTION' AND ALSO DEMAND HE BE PUT BEHIND BARS FOR LABELLING ME MIGRANT 'IN THE CONTEXT OF MY RIGHTFUL PLACE ACCORDING TO THE CONSTITUTION! A Return of the Dark Force

The Clown Wars

The past few days have seen some disturbing developments in BolehLand. Racism seems permissible only to those on the side of BN UMNOputra while others who are voicing their concerns of double standards are being threatened with the long arm of the law. Even the old sage Tun seem to feel that racism is the solution to ensure the survival and protection towards the bumiputras.

Is any race at threat from their rights and freedom taken away? Who are the culprits raising such sensitive issues on racism or the latest degrading Islam? Who are those people continuing to harp on race and religion?

BolehLanders by now have already sent a message on March 8 and Aug 26 that there are more issues at stake than race and religion. If race and religion were threatened, then the old guards BN in particular after 5 decades on championing racist policies should have retained their status quo. But it didn't.

Sadly today, the sore losers are again up-ing the ante on racism by uttering words that have stoke many a tension, mistrust, fear among the groups the slur is targetted. It's a vicious circle of treading salvos of crap at each group. Shame shame shame on our leaders whoever you are of using the racial card to hang on to your seat or to vie for power.

PM seem to tell BolehLanders it's time to fix things, get on with the business of governing-- but hey he himself is part and parcel to his bunch of paranoid ministers and party members who now seem to be using the government machinery to threaten, bully and paint an evil picture of Pakatan, bloggers and anyone who opposes these saints.

The double standard and sign of low self esteem and confidence are glaringly revealed in the following events:

1. Trying to cast doubt on the Pusrawi's doctor SD. Trying to convince the public the doctor wasn't harassed? It is odd that certain SD's are given more weight and attention than others. The queerest (pun intended) thing to arise from this Dr MOAH appearance is the remark from non other than our babber-the-nut as report in the local Chinese paper is whether the police would provide the doctor physical protection, this learned Hamid said since he had already appeared in the public, the issue of his safety was no longer existent.

May we also ask if the following important people safety are no longer existent since they did appear in public:

-anwar - soon to be in police protection in an 8x8 space?
- saiful - still under police protection?
- PI Bala - still MIB (Missing in BolehLand)
- Raja Petra - perhaps the world's most freest branded 'pariah' heretic, sued blogger, Muslim and Malaysian whose safety now is not guaranteed

2. Sending backbenchers on a lawatan sambil belajar, a disease that is prevalent with the civil service that turned out to be junket tours than anything educational. A tour not a coincident event we are told, to learn about growing food, which I suppose better than looking at toiets! And why the need to find out how China or Taiwan grow sawi and kangkong and pucuk ubi is it? This shows these formal attired pseudo 'farmers' don't even know the plight of farmers in their own backward or learn from local farmers what is wrong with our food production policies, correction Badawi's pet project that has become 'pet-food'.

3. The case of paranoiac fear of Sep 16 and sending our lawmakers down under as one of the holiday option tour we hear. Isn't it strange that we never get to hear of such educational visits until now? Hmmm why the sudden public announcement? It was a quiet affair when a previous administration visit some 'babi' farms in Europe. Perhaps vegetable farming is more halal! Good a sign of transparency to announce to the world they are going a farming we suppose right? And some kind soul is footing the bill and not a sen of BolehLander's money is touched. My foot tells me it smells better than this philanthropic gesture of some rich BN person. ACA should investigate where the money is from? Thought politicians don't earn much? Oh forgot it does not apply to BN guys.

Maybe the educational tour will give some an opportunity to scout for real estate in case Sep 16 materialises. Is it a sign they think they are going down under while they are down under?

4. And lately the increasing warning by our Minister of Hal Rumah, acting like an authoritative daddy as well as now a religious expert that the gomen through this Grand inquisitor will not hesitate to use the ISA, Sedition Act, arrests, cyber snooping, and other forms of threat on those who don't tow the BN line. This direct warning is a direct form of intimidation to the citizens and mark a return to the period where everyone either shut up or get shut away!

Are we witnessing the dark force descending soon on BolehLand, the revenge of the Sith to deal a blow against the Force of BolehLanders who are banding together to prevent those clowns from waging their war against the forces of freedom, justice, fairness, truth and of course the demise of being identified by race, religion or colour?

So be prepared for the Clown Wars and May the Force of goodness, justice and truth be with us. I guess they would interpret this to mean some kind of incitement is it, if they have the mentality of the Third Estate of the French Revolution? The fear is they are already developing such a mentality and if you know your French history, are we seeing the dark clouds of the 'Reign of Terror' ominously hovering on this beloved land of ours because they believe in maintaining the status quo and punishing anyone who oppose their way? Does anyone notice that the people in BN giving such warnings and making threat especially the politicians and Ministers are UMNOputras?

It's disturbing, really disturbing what has befallen BolehLand and the BN particularly the UMNOputra who is bringing the apocalyptic days nearer and into reality.

Dishonourary Write-up for an Honourary Award

A recent boo-boo by a distinguished university does not augur well for BolehLand's supposedly distinguished universities particularly with recent efforts to achieve some international status. It reflects the sad state of affairs of the level of English, don't start with talking about school level English.

It is too distressing to even blog on the shameful and atrocious write-up that was published in an English daily dedicated to the consort of the Tengku Mahkota of Johor on being conferred the honourary Doctorate of Philosophy in Education by the University.

It's really horrible trying to figure out what the citation was about. It's like a tribute to a modern day Princess written in heliographic and one needs a PhD to be able to understand what the heck they were trying to say!

Have a read below and draw your conclusions but don't blame the university if your English descend to on par with the author after reading it.

But beware and be warned, reading UTHO's write-up may cause you to develop a severe case of migraine, not from anger but more from frustrations trying to decipher what the scribe meant. I believe U-THO, I mean YOU TOO may be just as horrified as I was.

Looks like or rather sounds like a Jappy translation of a BM write up but then Japanese translations have greatly improved these days!

So whoever wrote it should get the 'MORON of the YEAR' Award. Hope it was not written by someone with a GP lower than 2 because if it was, such a person is notorious for causing havoc!

I think even sms messages we receive makes more sense than the write-up!!

Read of the horror of the Editor upon realising that the advertorial went through without any vetting. Which is good in a way, considering the Prime Minister has urged the media to report the 'TRUTH' and boy the write-up really revealed to us the True Nature of the state of this university right? our universities?

THE English language was mutilated and murdered in one clumsy cock-up two Saturdays ago. And the worst part was, the whole boo-boo got published most awkwardly in this newspaper.
It will go down as one of the most appalling bloopers, blunders or bungles of our time, gravely aggravated by the ironic fact that it originated in a respected university and meant to honour a regal personage.
I think I would faint were I to repeat that whole passage of roughly 600 words. But for those who missed it, let me give you an idea of the madness that has crept into our education system by quoting verbatim this one line: "Yang Amat Mulia also is a linguist follow several courses including language Mandarin at the tertiary level, French and Italy language."
Mind you, this is, believe it or not, the least offensive line, one of the less contemptible ones, and is picked as mere illustration and not meant in any way to further demean Yang Amat Mulia Raja Zarith Sofiah binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Al-Mutawakil Alallahi Shah, the consort of the Tengku Mahkota of Johor, to whom the write-up was dedicated.
It was an advertorial in honour of her. But it turned out to be anything but that because it was written in horrendous and incomprehensible broken English.
An advertorial is an article that is paid for by someone or some organisation to promote an interest or a product. It is essentially an advertisement couched in the style of an editorial or journalistic report.
This one appeared on page 43 of the New Straits Times of Aug 23. It was prepared and paid for by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn to commemorate its conferment of an honorary PhD in Education on Raja Zarith Sofiah at its seventh convocation.
It happened, and disastrously so, that the citation was submitted rather late for the next day's publication. In the ensuing rush, the diligent process the paper prides itself on went haywire, the mistakes somehow escaping the hawkish eyes of everyone until it was way too late and the paper had hit the streets.
And what an embarrassment. The misadventure was an editor's nightmare that could have pushed his stress level several notches up or speeded up his aging another 10 years or so.
While everyone is now scrambling to plug the loopholes that led to the muddle, the whole episode has come as a useful reflection, unwittingly exposing many weaknesses of a university of some standing. And with that, perhaps, the whole education system in the country.
In this instance, it is even more painful because the university carries the illustrious name of the country's third prime minister, whose son is now incidentally the education minister.
The university has since published an apology, with a much improved and intelligible version of the advertorial three days ago.
But we have reason to be worried by the bigger picture brought by this question: has the standard of English sunk to a new low here and is this reflective of all our universities?
Some people, of course, would like to dismiss this kind of concern as an overreaction, believing that Malaysia as an independent country should not be too reliant on a foreign language when it is Bahasa Malaysia that everyone should be promoting.
Love of our own language is fine and should be encouraged. It has its place in our hearts. But heads should rule, too, if we look at today's world. I say we relegate and neglect English at our own peril.
But the country sadly appears to be still confused about its education policies and priorities.
The niggling discomfort and raging debate over the use of English in the teaching of Science and Mathematics is a case in point.
The system, introduced five years ago, is in jeopardy and may be scrapped following complaints that pupils, particularly in rural schools, find it hard to cope with the language.
The question is, do we scrap something just because pupils find it difficult? Or do we find a way to make them overcome that difficulty?
It should be obvious by now that a lot has to do with the nationalistic and chauvinistic fervour of some sections of the population which, perhaps in tune with the demands of local politics, policy-makers sometimes cave in to.
But what does it do to our younger generation? What does it do to our children's confidence and competitiveness in a globalised world?
The advertorial by the top-notch university cited above provides too frightening a prospect.

The University published an apology on Aug 30, 2008 with a full page coloured rewritten and polished citation at that rightly titled 'Raja Zarith Sofia - Modern-Day Princess'. It apologised for any 'inconveniences or confusion caused directly or indirectly by the publication' and 'is much regretted.'

Had this happened in the ancient time, it would likely be 'off with the head' of the scribe! Wonder if they transferred the writer to another department?

So UTHOM candidacy for Apex will not see the light of day for a long time coming. It has to pick up the pieces after being flattened by this an 'Atomic Bomb' write-up.

Overview

The KOMAS Freedom Film Festival (FFF) is the first film event of its kind in Malaysia. FFF adopts the themes encompassed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) which express our aspirations for genuine justice, peace, equality and democracy.

Through an annual film contest, workshops and screenings, FFF creates an annual showcase of outstanding films and documentaries focusing on social issues that affect ordinary people like HIV/AIDS, human rights, poverty and the environment; alternative films which, due to a lack of commercial backing and because of the tyranny of popular mainstream media, are out of the reach to most Malaysians.

FFF is a vital event, providing a venue for the Malaysian public to use the video medium as a tool for social documentation and filmmaking. Technological advances have brought about a democratising effect to filmmaking in recent years. With a video camera in hand, almost any person on the street, and even entire communities, can share their story in the way they want to tell it. Filmmakers are better equipped now to explore and express their skills and passion to produce socially relevant films.

An Epic Effort for An Apex Status?

USM gets apex status. Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has been granted apex status. With it, USM can expect hundreds of millions of ringgit in additional funding to transform it into Malaysia's first world-class university. Star, Aug 4, 2008

Good to hear that my alma mater Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is selected for the Accelerate Programme for Excellence based as the Higher Education Minister said ‘based on its transformation plan and preparedness to make changes to its proposal paper’, in other words, your future plans looks good enough so you get the programme. So based on a future promise, USM is an Apex varsity which shows probably they can write a better proposal than the other universities! Congratulations nonetheless for making efforts to upgrade the statues of academic excellence in the country.

In BolehLand, we have too often have listened to one too many future plans, blue-prints and a Thesaurus of synonyms for proposals, including corridors some of which leads to dead-ends and nowhere, including one crooked bridge that went astray, a double electric rail track that made no headway but got short-circuited, a second bridge that only managed to spanned the imagination of islanders than provided a dual link to the mainland, a clean government that continue to be tainted with corruption, a promise of the government of the people which today seem to be heading towards a polarity of ‘ketuanan’ of ethnic groups and a promise of justice, fairness, transparency, accountability being replaced by threats of incarceration against those who seek to ensure such promises are fulfilled.

Receiving hundreds of millions more of taxpayers money to get some recognition in the world? Not sure whether the millions is better spent on upgrading the basic foundation of education at school level. Isn't it better to inculcate the habit of academic excellence and innovation at school level, providing them better teaching facilities and tools so that when they enter the universities, these kids will have a strong foundation to contribute even better in a university environment?

Attaining a star status is not achieved solely by facilities, equipment and tools… if there are no intelligent minds to utilise them to generate greater knowledge, the university is just like a well organised workshop with all the tools properly itemized, stored and arranged but hardly being used at all or only basic tools are used the workshop is of no use to anyone right?

An Apex university is promised autonomy in :

1. Finance, which means, you take care of your own kitty, a prelude to higher tuition fees?
2. Service scheme, which means the employees, lecturers and administrators may be better paid, which means, see 1 above
3. Management, which means this may not change even with autonomy as the gomen still have the first and final say
4. Student intake, which means, acceptance based on merit? Or is it status quo? Most likely status quo remains same plausibly merit requirements a notch higher and those from a particular ethnic group who can’t enter may stand a better chance at UiTM that welcomes them irrespective of merit just ethnicity will do
5. Study fees, which means, see 1 above
6. Top administrative leadership, which means status quo for No 1 and 2, the rest just to fulfill the Apex status

Let’s hope USM Apex status does not go the way of what is happening in BolehLand but another grand scheme of things of the Malaysia Boleh spirit that turned out into a ‘Boh-lew’ fiasco as the Hokkien would say.

Wishing USM to lead the way to put some pride back into BolehLand

Our Blue Boys Rounds- Makes The Neighbourhood A Lot Safer

It was a nice surprise to get a note in my post box from our honourable police force of Petaling Jaya District that they are patrolling the housing area. This is an excellent example and one of the best PR that the force needs especially the flaks they seem to be getting from reports of lax of security in their own departments resulting in loss of material evidence, worse they are drugs!; allegation of abuse and handling of police reports made

We know that not all bad apples make the whole basket bad but if the bad ones are not weeded out it will affect the rest in all organisations, mind you.

So to those dedicate men and women in the police force, kudos for holding on to your principles and we hope you will really uphold justice and fairness, particularly the top brass. The sight of a uniformed police personnel stirs anxiety for most of us and I am not sure if this is a universal reaction. Don’t we wish that we could feel safe and secure with them around and think of them as our friendly neighbourhood safety officer than ‘security’? The word ‘security’ itself does cause unease, as it conjures images often that of expressionless faces standing with arms akimbo, weapons ready to be drawn, arrest, the perception (maybe the news and MSM and a lot of Hollywood are partly to be blamed) of ‘capture by any means’ usually equates to mean using force - one real factor that stares us in the eyes of restricting one's freedom.

So whatever experiences we have with our police force, they are not always what we make them out to be... our fear often unfounded. They are more a welcome company and more dependable than a neighbour and we know how pathetic neighbours can be sometimes when it comes to helping in neighbourhood watch.

Thank you to my friendly police for giving me some security. By the way, my home has been broken in 5 times since I moved in but has stopped after installing this alarm system ADT (no no I’m not advertising for anyone or making any from referrals) and when I’m not in the police will check on the place-What more can I ask for.

Also, our appreciative gratitude we owe to those in white too! no not hospital attendants or nurses but the traffic cops (though most of my personal encounter with them is getting stopped during their checking operations, the most memoriable was getting back change from a sympathetic cop!). They have been really great during rush hours often in unhealthy conditions. We hope that they would be given some mask to wear and even if they have the power to stop polluting vehicles that zip pass them while directing traffic, I guess it's impractical to issue a ticket to polluting vehicles during such times. To the traffic cops, again a 'thank you' for your work. Lest those who think that they should not be praised because it's their job, nonetheless, they deserve my 'thank you' for a great job they are doing, rain, sun, heat or pollution. Can we get more at those critical road points when 4 lanes are squeesed into 2? are those who park haphazadly in narrow streets. Come this Ramadhan, traffic cops are more needed that even given the many temporary stalls set up all over walkways and road corners?

We hope and pray that our enformcement officers do their duties 'without fear or favour' and uphold the principles of their organisation, and not kow tow to anyone, you owe your honour to the uniform not political masters!

Double Standards

The height of double standards by the BN-UMNOputra government is the recent remark by their fello bumiputra Datuk Ahmad Ismail who was alleged to have uttered racist remarks during the PPauh by-election campaign something like the Chinese are ‘immigrants’.

Why the sudden furore over racist remarks uttered by the government particularly UMNO who like their component party MCA and MIC are racist party by nature? - Championing FIRST the rights of their race and then when they have served their political agenda they remember there are also other ‘immigrants’ in BolehLand besides those 1 million or over guests here to help the other ‘long time migrants’ develop this country.

Aren’t we Chinese are inured to being branded immigrants, second class citizen, consumer of haram products specifically ‘khenzir’ or is it ‘babi’ now?, ‘Jews of the East’, bananas, unpatriotic (the ones who will be first to migrate given the slightest chance but exception to a certain Minister with PR status is deemed patriotic to hold dual citizenship and still be a Minister only in BolehLand or an ex PM who may if the pretender to the throne ascended the PM seat) and ungrateful for all the things the gomen has done for us - giving the impression we did not do anything but were beggars of aid and handouts? how ironical right? But I can't speak for our Indian friends who will have their own passionate case to put forth they are Malaysians too, which class they would need to ask the UMNOputras I guess. But not all bumis share the moronic thinking of the so called custodian of the 'ketuanan' most Malays are great people but made out to be a supremacist race courtesy of these self appointed demagogues.

Surprised nothing from the Menteri Hal Rumah, when the rakyat point out such seditious slur? So with this ‘misinterpretation’ explanation, is the gomen telling us matter closed, shut up and live with the FACTS we are trying to remind you non sons-of-the-soil who are soiling their pure real estate. Even the Arif loser fello echoed his master’s view not surprising since he seem to know more Hokkien and Chinese! so YBA (not PhD mind you!) can’t be faulted really not to understand what was said in bahasa by his compatriot!

So it seems alright for them to say anything as the fault lies with the listener one is reminded often enough. Let's recall some of the inventive tactics which only BolehLand fellos especially politicians can come up with:

So the speaker has NO DOUBT at all what was said, it's the listener, which means us who are dumb fools and not learned enough from some Ox-fool college or legal profession to understand what was said.

We can all recall how some idiotic persons especially oppositions who have been slapped the Sedition Act, for uttering racial slur but this double standard is common in BolehLand… it’s a confirmation that whatever flows from the lips of BN UMNOputras it is not seditious but stating a matter of FACT?

Remember the overzealous CAT-y Lim?= who scratched at the NEP when he came into power trying to show off his feline prowess nearly got his paws clipped and fur ruffled for his 'racist remarks'! Anyway one thought that the NEP is about eradication of poverty, balancing imbalances and not about being affiliated to a particular race. Wonder how on earth the NEP is synonymous to an ethnic group rights… unless it’s an implicit fact that the definition of a particular race now goes beyond just son-of-soil, or affiliated to ONLY ONE religion, or belong to preferably ONE ethnic group but plus also membership of the NEP… now if that being the case then, one cannot talk or touch anything to this sanctified name and it's cousin of similar name because you will be accused of being racist.But why stop at just adding the NEP as a criteria to distinguish your ethnicity, throw in institutions like UiTM, what about the civil service, where does it stop then?

So DOUBLE STANDARD is the staple of politicians and passport for them to traverse the land and utter slurs with absolutely no compunction whatsoever. This DS a very common phenomena in BolehLand second is I suppose SDs (statutory declarations which in a way is similar to DS – can mean the truth and also lies too!)

It is a kind act of mother nature to us BolehLanders that this generation has not evolved people with forked tongues even though it has become ingrained in our DNA (the latest buzz word nowadays) to always speak in double meanings and adopt double standards (always a thesis-antithesis phenomena in everything happening) to everything happening below the sky of BolehLand.Perhaps in the next generation BolehLand will set a new record to have the first generation of sons with forked tongues probably those in politics will be the one setting the trend!

Double Standard seems de reguere, is the way of life in BolehLand, some examples the teacher who made racial slur is transferred, the PKR weirdo who made a racial slur is defended as a personal action, the duo assembly men in Perak charged with corruption are innocent until guilty and business as usual and certain bloggers are deemed ‘evil’ and ‘inciting’ worse blasphemy against his own religion or a former DPM is accused in an unaccused manner whatever that means!

On this seemingly ‘invincible’ blogger no ustaz or fatwa council have issued any edict that he committed blasphemy and deserved Iranian justice as a dear Ass-raf recommended. Strange though our learned Minister and the Must Censor Must Control (MCMC) watchdog of the Mutilated Sick Corridor spotted the blasphemy and heresy? in the articles but not our learned religious people which goes to show our Ministers are experts whenever occasion demands.

So what is the criteria of deciding what is deemed Seditious, Sensitive or not have meant what was said? Perhaps our seemingly bankrupt blogger should also take the cue from our beloved leader (remember Leadership by Example?) and say ‘you people have misunderstood me and what you think is not what I mean to say”.. whatever! or better go SWEAR to GOD that you didn't blasphme or lied.. then kau tim site restored and we are more enlightened again!

This Double Standard we know smacks on being bias and hypocritical. Our leaders and politicians have very very short memories… or rather have developed the art of selective discrimination that they don’t realize they are practicing it daily but have come to believe that they hold the authority and right to say what they want anytime, anything, anyplace, anyhow, anyway, however, whatever do not matter to them. Say their peace and so be it is the name game!

So the moral Double Standard lesson is simply this “It’s permissible to be racist if you are in power, the rest deserves the Sedition Act, ISA, Kamunting, and whatever book they wish to throw at you!

Why is it that them politicians get away with such slurs while bloggers are subjected to threats, 'only get blocked', home visitations by the police, latest we hear being snooped upon in cyberspace?

So this year in BolehLand, besides the many tan sris and datuk awards, the latest should be this award presented to all those whose reply to any statement made, 'I was misquoted' or those who defend such people with the remark 'He/she did not mean what he/she said'.

Subdued Merdeka

Today as always I looked at the Jalur Gemilang to be proud of my country and praise God for keeping me here and taking care of the homeland i love.

But this year, the feeling of oneness seems very distant and i couldn't quickly have the level of patriotism i use to feel or have.

There is sadness and uneasiness in my heart. I feel alienated, a kind of despair that all is not right in BolehLand. The feeling of harmony, love, sense of purpose seem lost, turn asunder by what happened after March 8.

I could not believe my ears when the Prime Minister at the Budget Speech turned it into a political speech attacking the opposition. It's like telling us accept what we stuff down yr throat. It is the most immature and unwarranted display of lack of statesmanship- shows he's losing his grip of his leadership and resorting to threats? Shame on you!

Anyway the budget does nothing to me in the middle income group and this band of people are also very affected and probably pay the most taxes. There is nothing for us!

PM's Merdeka message seems to give hints of need for healing, all those nationalistic appeal to "we are one, our future belong to us" blah2 but at the back, his hands are probably clamped as a fist to wallop any opposition and 'evil' bloggers against his BN UMNOputra government or following his younger fello youth leaders a keris to strike down the Pakatan governments. What bull to remind us we are citizens when you deprive money to Pakatan states, where the citizens slog and also pay taxes. Shame on you when you continue to perpetuate racist politics and abuse the sanctity of religion by allowing your leaders to swear till their kingdom come! I wonder if he is as convinced of the truthfulness of his Merdeka speech much as MCMC believed in Malaysia Today! Perhaps the Merdeka message should be banned too with regard to citizen's rights, half truths and lies just like MT blog! At best, the message is reporting facts of a fictitious nation!

And the Merdeka logo looks like some virus to me slowly making Bolehland sick and the disease seems spreading or is it some strands of DNA, resulting in a mutant landscape scarred, unrecognisable and ugly. There is unpredictable outcome evolving from this malaise and what was once a predictable pattern of hope in this country, there is uncertainty what creature this nation will evolve into.

There is a lack of exuberance in the air, even the jalur does not flap on car tops as the yesteryear or hung prominently. Something seems stale in this country, this dank in the air a result of too much sleaze and sex against nature being broadcast particularly by MSM, delinquient juvenile acts by ruling party politicians and recalcitrant behavior of the opposition.

Something has gone wrong and we are degenerating into a fourth-world mentality of trying to cope with a two party system, when two political parties vie for power and efforts made to return to multi party politics are lost, when racist party seek to gain support by trumpeting or perpetuating 'ketuanan' racist politics that BolehLanders rejected in March 8 and in Aug 26.

We seem to be suspended in time, in our development programs, even in simple things like getting on with our lives without being reminded we are divided by race, religion, status and color. We are like two people swinging on a trapeze, each not trusting the other to want to let go or two persons dueling with rapier in their hands fencing one another but their weapons not long enough to even injure anyone. That's what BN and Pakatan are doing sparring each other hoping the other gives up, going at each others throat or neck trampling on the citizens, like the proverbial elephants fighting.

The BN and Pakatan, they deserve to be blamed because they have each behaved in a childish manner, immature in actions and the BN is now trying to exert control by playing Big Daddy, wielding the stick of discipline and mete punishment through direct use of force, threat and covert activities using their machinery of the institutions, law and mainstream media to do their bidding.

United in what?

So this Merdeka I hope we can find back our love for the nation and not degenerate into a zombie state of mind.

Happy Hari Merdeka to the country i am born in, am living and hope to die without anyone disputing over my dead body too! It's a subdued Merdeka being dubbed into believing we are citizens with a place and a voice and a future together... Hugh? did I hear you right PM!

So with the pretender to the throne supposedly a step or is it a thousand more steps to the throne, now within eye-sight with the abdicator to the throne and his chosen one, is there really a choice which party will give hope to BolehLand in Distress and Stress without the need to fly anything wrong-side up that might make one end on the wrong side of the law?

Ask the man on the street, if there is any light at the end of the tunnel after being submerged in dirt and cum since March 8, the answer would probably be who cares? Why?... because the political parties don't seem to be interested in the well being of the country but vying to put their derriere on the throne or putting a new one on the hotseat!

And the 'Shadow' Government is spending too much time, plotting, koreking past misdeeds giving us the impressions they are a rather vindictive lot. They need to perphaps to ensure their survival in the next election. If energies are spend to point fingers, there is hardly any left and misdirected precious resources to bring about development to the people and states under their control. Forget about asking if they have any blueprint for development? You'd get more jottings on paper tissues and graffitis on walls than waiting to hear of anything concrete from them. At the moment, 'shadow' cabinet has 'shallow' ideas how to even build a cohesive Pakatan.

To the pessimist, neither party has any blue-print, each having 'populist' move to try and demonstrate they are keeping to election promises. But BolehLanders are not convinced with these short term and flip flop policies which are more 'blur-prints' than anything else convincing that there is 'light' at the end of the tunnel. Right now, perhaps, blame it on unkind mother nature, or is it BN's own doing, the tunnel is closed and often flooded with muck, slime and grim! so we are still stuck in a slow crawl or gridlock whichever road we take, any road even the one most taken or the less travelled will take the same time to reach our destination.

The paradox of BolehLand's political landscape is simply this - The ruling government, BN and UMNO-putra dominated have the advantage of the government juggernaut machinery, treasure-chest of ringgit unlimited, corridor programs and support of all arms of the government institutions to make things right for the nation- they have the power but seemingly short of willpower or maturity to accept the changing political landscape and the perception of its people on creating their destiny for the country. They prefer to that this advantage to destroy Pakatan, subtely or by doing things that coincidentially and conveniently happens

The energized opposition on the other hand, though full of firebank, is very much a tyro in government with some already alleged to have acquired the bad habits of the former regime involving in graft with a touch of sex thrown in for good measure. Their gripe is the lack of funding and a bi-partisan civil service and the realities of self sufficiency as they cannot depend on the federal government for aid not even to taxpayers or those who voted them. Pakatan's government and elected SAs and MPs are not without enthusiasm or will but they are handicap and lack access to the type of advantage that the ruling party has. At the same time, they are warding off accusations of incompetence and inexperience than going about getting on with the job.

However, between these two political dogs, they don’t see eye to eye not especially the leader of the pack and the adult puppies. The growls, howls and barks have been a constant din in BolehLand, causing anxiety, fear and lots of uncomfortable feeling that once the barking stops, the biting will start and things will turn ugly. Even though one leader is trying to entice the smaller puppies to cross over, the pack for the moment are together in their own pack.

So given that two canines are equally vicious and bent on eliminating each other, which of these two canines will one choose to safeguard their real estate? The one that has been the guard-dog for more than 5 decades or the new breed on the block? The bet is BolehLanders are willing to choose the new rotweller and give it a chance to be numero supremo because both these canines are equally capable of exhibiting similar behavioural tendencies, they will dig your backyard, bite your shoes, pee on the car wheel, and no matter where they dunk their dung, its waft is equally nauseating- they can create a mess or destroy your home as well as wag their tails to make you happy and warm your heart.

So, in BolehLand, BolehLanders are willing to let the new canine take care of the property because the old dog is still playing its same old trick and isn’t as agile or adaptive than the new ‘stud’. So they are going to bet on giving Anwar a chance because whoever is there now, the view is is nothing has or will change, so why not let in the new ‘stud’. We are basically trading a canine with another canine, what’s the difference… they will still bark the same, destroy your garden, pee on you and equally a horny a** should a bitch walk by right?

So advantage to Anwar if you accept the fact that we can't be worse off which ever of the two we choose? But one is more hopeful the new canine has better tricks to entertain us and give us a better sense of security than the old dog who may learn a few new tricks or two but then have to do so outside the perimeter of the master's house.!

BolehLand's MSC, is heading the road of becoming Malaysia's Sick Cyberworld Corridor with the actions of its custodian the MCMC.

Seems that the government is afraid of the 'truths' that may be behind the blocking of Malaysia Today? Are they showing their 'sore loser' mentality again? And by doing what they did, they are even losing more sympathy and support of many BolehLanders who are finding reasons to believe and give the present government opportunities to get their act together and regain back their dignity and most important the trust of the people.

MCMC is now sharing the same beds with our neighbour down south and the people who gave us a 'One World, One Dream' show of trying to police cyberspace and impose a sanitised version of society where thoughts are controlled?

If according to their belief that MT is publishing materials deemed inciting whatever they can dream off, then one should also ban MSM websites who prefer to only give one side of the story and inciting frustration, anger and swearing by readers who are irritated with bias reporting.

So what's so scandalous in MT compared to the sex stories and shows being paraded in BolehLand nightly in Permatang Pauh by SIAL ... I mean a SIL, or front-paged in MSM or extensive broadcasting airtime on prime viewing hours? (Did you noticed that the coverage of the P.Pauh's election victory of Anwar was over before 10 breaths or 2 eye blinks on the so-called national news agency channel?)

What's so incriminating of MT's article compared to the incredible abuse of power, misuse of funds, corruption, nepotism, incompetency, flip-flops, travesty committed against religious beliefs of other faith happening in BolehLand?

What's so unbelievable in MT compared to those zillion stories of sordid version of truths about VIPs on the NET or even aliens amongst us? Watch enough of YouTube and MCMC should also shut it down right?

MCMC is joining those bunch of prudes who take upon their role without our sanction as 'moral guardian' of what entertainment is 'halal' or 'non-halal'.

So far TMNET, a GLC which has to toe the line blocked it, we hope the other ISPs would not be cowed into such threats. Well, perhaps internet surfers can switch to other networks that are less hassled or being held to ransom by having to pay a high price for using their network.

MCMC is trying to reign in bloggers, those 'evil' and 'pariahs' as the government make bloggers who do not toe the line or are pro-government to be, which reminds us of the extension of the mentality of the main BN party, UMNO who has this delusion that it is custodian, the ONLY custodian self-appointed rather or maybe they SWEAR they have Divine Blessings and Authority as the sole defender of 'ketuanan' of a particular ethnic group?

MCMC, shame on you for discriminating one website when there are many other pro-government websites that are also spewing venom and inciting hatred among races. I am sure many bloggers can provide you with many pro-government blog sites that carry even more seditious articles than MT. Maybe we should start with all the MSM on-line news websites? They are the worst as they seem to have sanction to publish inciting articles.

So the government is slowly and subtly turning the screw tighter the cyberchannel and world wide web on bloggers who seem not to kow tow to them issit?

Such actions, which will be denied as coincidental, serves only to deepen the resentment, anger and support for the opposition. BolehLanders have sent a signal on March 8 and March 26 (a double 'ong' 8 and 2+6=8) for a change of attitudes, abolishment of racial and supremest thinking, a reform from within... but sadly, the move by MCMC is a reflection of holding on the the vestiges of serfdom mentality, the arrogance of political might and majority rule and the failure to respect the citizens as an integral part of nation building. It is actions like this that will galvanise more fence sitters to support for change.

MCMC action's is tantamount to challenging the bloggers. Are we going to take this kind of threat that they seemingly have the power to pull the plug or rather shut the world wide web so that we end up staring at a blank screen?

By driving a website underground, isn't it more harmful than having it openly accessible. Would it not be better to know what is being written in the open, than for what is written hidden from view and disseminated via emails or other encrypted channels?

One hopes the MCMC not think that they own the WWW or have the best IT and cyber detectives. Perhaps they should spend their energy eliminating the phisphing site that are siphoning hard earned money from naive and gullible internet banking customers. Put your resources to better use than to be the cause of incitement to the blog community than blaming one website to be the cause of the woes of BolehLand. If the government is doing a good job rightly, it shouldn't have to be afraid or hide.

The Swearing Disease in SwearLand

Lately we have a spate of swearings in BolehLand ... opps I mean SWEARLand now - some in holy places, some over holy books and the latest in the form of Statutory Declarations.

This swearing disease is not surprising because the source of the virus stems from the house of Putrajaya, BolehLand's Leadership by Example Holy of Holies. So the latest craze is to Swear when you have nothing to lose or rather nothing better to do or to prove you are innocent.

All BolehLanders are now being inflicted by this swearing disease. Every corner you'd soon find people swearing over holy books, holy places, dead bodies (if over someone's mom makes the swear more potent).

So I swear that the next person who swears, I swear God will swear He will punish the swearer to damnation and send the swearer to hell. The God who accepts the swear of the Swearer is a swearing God who only seeks swearings of innocence not guilt. I swear to God that I will continue to swear each time I am innocent and I do not need to swear when I sin.

Permatang Pauh - the New Pilgrimage Site

These days Permatang Pauh seems to be a new holy city (yes some places of worship of a particular religion will get some new uplifting due to the generosity and discriminative charity of the BN while other religions houses of worship can rot for all they care) surpassing even Vatican City, Fatima and the holy sites in the Middle East.

PP is the new pilgrimage site not for sinners but those who are pure of hearts, those who wish to reaffirm their innocence and proud to make a public display of themselves as innocence most pure.

The evidence is the swearing rituals that is currently a daily occurrence, nightly too at a certain political party who promised a 'suci' campaign we are told. It Just So Happens...

Noticed in recent weeks, precision timing seems to be the flavour of the moment in BolehLand.

There seem to be some unexplainable phenomena, gripping this land where there is a perfect sync between timing and events. It's not a question of convenience and don't read any conspiracy into the timing of some of these events we are all too familiar with.

RM1.2 million allocation to repair classrooms and halls to six Chinese primary schools in Permatang Pauh. Took them two months to get the approval which means we are getting efficient getting approvals
The DNA Identification Bill tabled on August 18, 2008 and have implications to the one who swore without any religious swearing ceremony it is a conspiracy to try and convict him
The liwat case which seemed to crop up when rumour was heard of impending comeback by the pretender to the throne
Sudden awareness of the underdevelopment of Permatang Pauh
Help from mother nature sending floods in Permatang Pauh resulting in promise to alleviate age old flood woes if one party wins otherwise, sorry wallow in flood waters
The resignation of a prominent Gerakan member in Penang
Or that Anwar's name crops us always in the 'blame game' of losses incurred under previous administration, like in Penang

The latest we read is the 'nightly appearance' of a Saiful character repeating his religious swearing in the same breath of telling how he got sodomised by that Anwar fellar. Guess who took advantage of this poor Saiful, making a fool of his promise not to politicise his painful episode? No, you don't get any brownies for your answers. Probably 'it just so happen' them BN-UMNO people put in the wrong tape into the player. Wonder where our powder-puffed tai-tais are who promised a 'suci' campaigning or perhaps the star appearance is one of their Jihad ammo against a sinner?

The plausible explanations to desist BolehLanders from practising their bad habits of rumor mongering and accusation of conspiracies or hypocrisy is simple:

"It just so happens..."
"It is a mere coincidence that such case has cropped up at a time when this is being tabled in Parliament..."

Or is it the case that efficiency has improved greatly, projects are implement in droves.

So you see in BolehLand nothing happens coincidentally, everything is planned so it cannot be 'it so happens'

With the whole nation, its resources, energies and time all focused on a by-election, we can expect more 'Precision Timing' 'Coincidental Events' to crop up. Makes one think if we are really keeping to time lines in our lives finally.

One can't argue if something is good for the people and nation right? so why question it ? Just accept 'seems like it' and 'it just happens to be' explanations will you and shut your trap to any conspiracy or label it 'hypocrisy'.

If only we are that efficient too on promises made pre March 8 and post March 8 by all parties.

Come to think of it, on boring months nothing coincidental happens in BolehLand and time moves ever so slowly and 'Malaysian time' is the order of the day.

The NS latest curriculum- Nurturing Sex

Sex education to feature in NS training from next year . KUALA LUMPUR (Aug18, 2008) : A slot on sex education will be introduced in the National Service (NS) Training Programme at its January 2009 intake.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen said the education module on sex will be implemented through a special slot lasting 10 hours at all NS camps.
"The module is known as 'Self Preservation, Self Protection and Self Determination' whereby the scope of teaching will cover individual and family values, and understanding of physical and emotional changes that each person undergoes.
"We ought to introduce these aspects so that they (NS trainees) know themselves better and are able to handle problems during the adolescent stage their lives," she told reporters after opening the National Demography Conference 2008 here today.
She said most adolescents got their information about sex from unofficial sources like during conversations with peers or through the Internet where some of the information presented might not be very accurate. Monday, 18 August 2008 06:10pm - The Sun.

When sex education was advocated to be part of the school curriculum for secondary students, there were different views on its feasibility and whether the students were ready for such lessons of life. Today it is still not even planned for the school. It would have been feasible to start sex education at school level as it provides a better opportunity to understand and receive constant as well as longer period for guidance.

With the introduction of sex education in the NS programme, under a confined environment and over such a short period of 10 hours, it would be interesting if our trainees' minds will be more preoccupied with sex than with building other aspects of their characters. If the suggestion is implemented, how many trained personnel would be required to conduct the cost which means more money spent on this 'already expensive' ‘Romancing the youth’ programme?

Given some unpleasant reports of rape, molest, death and what have you, perhaps it may not be totally correct to believe that a majority of parents would welcome the new topic. But don't be surprised our modern exposed lasses and hunks there know more about sex that the counsellor since there is admission they have acquired these from other 'unofficial sources'? What makes the sex information in the camp deemed 'official'?

While one may not dispute the virtues of sex education, perhaps it can be taught in a more controlled environment and over a longer period in schools to give more time for feedback.

One hopes the sex education lessons won’t turn the NS programme to a ‘Love Boat, Romance Camps’, since these hormone active adolescents will be enlightened into the biological, physiological and psychological aspects of ‘sex education’. It’s interesting to know the syllabus to be taught and we hope the camp counselors are expected to be ‘sexperts’ on the subject too besides teaching them drills, using firearms and the ala ‘boy scout, girl guide’ activities.

Rather than concentrate on introducing ‘sex education’, the government could well spend more energy to improve living conditions and prevent further deaths due to negligence. So if our inquisitive youths ask questions that may prove too sexual for the councellors to handle, will they get punished or will they be made to sit through listening to a sanitized version of love, romance and sex. As the government claims, these kids are learning it from peers, books and the internet which I suppose is far more interesting and sexciting, best of luck to the sex counselor at the NS camp.

Is the NS camp getting too boring that ‘sex education’ needs to be introduced to awaken our youngsters? What about career guidance? or even teach them basic law and citizen right’s. Don’t tell me these subjects are potentially harmful or may become a threat later on if our youngsters know their rights? But sex is equally a potential explosive issue too. Would the sex education classes also teach about the acts against nature and how to swear yourself out of any situations?

So in about three months, without communication with the outside world, our sex aware youngsters will have only among themselves to learn about what was being thought … correct then that they learn sex more from peers than the ‘proper channels’. Parents are already uncomfortable with their prince and princesses in the camps and with sex education thrown in to ‘spice’ the camp or worse it might ‘spice’ up the youngsters imagination – parents have more worries I guess.

PRESS STATEMENT ON THE WARNING AND “SHOW CAUSE” LETTERS ISSUED BY THE HOME MINISTRY TO THE HERALD

A series of warning letters culminating in a “show cause” letter have been issued by the Home Ministry to the HERALD-The Catholic Weekly in respect of articles carried by the paper which, according to an official from the Home Ministry, were allegedly “politically inclined and touched on Islamic issues”.

The Herald is a weekly publication printed by the Catholic Church in Malaysia. It carries news of current affairs and religious and educational articles with a view to propagating the Catholic faith. The Herald is sold in churches and not by newsvendors. The Herald has a circulation of 13,000 copies per week and a readership estimated at 50,000.

In seeking to control the contents of the Herald, the Home Ministry’s warning and “show cause” letters go against Article 3 (1), Article 10 (1) (a) and Article 11 (3) (a) of the Federal Constitution i.e. the right to freely practice one’s religion, the general freedom of speech and expression and the right of a religious group to manage its own affairs. Such controls would deprive the Catholic community of current information and education relating to their faith and such an act by the authorities is tantamount to a curtailment of religious freedom.

The Honourable Home Minister has said that the Herald should restrict its articles to matter pertaining to religion only. In an article carried by the Sun on 14.8.2008, he was quoted as stating: “If you are to write on religion, then you are supposed to touch on matters pertaining to:

• questions on rituals,
• adherence to God,
• followers
• and anything related to your divine mission.”

It is significant that the Honourable Minister referred to matters pertaining to the adherence to God, followers and anything related to the divine mission. The Catholic Church teaches that it is the duty of Christians to contribute along with the civil authorities to the good of the society in a spirit of truth, justice, solidarity and freedom. This contribution of Christians to society is rooted in love. This love manifests itself in social and political charity. Social charity is to seek the good of all people not only as individuals but as a larger, social community. In order to promulgate social charity, it is necessary to organise and structure society in order that no member of society is left in need.

Organising and structuring society requires the application of political charity.

This teaching in found in the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church and for the purpose of easy reference this can be read on pages 207 & 208 under the section “The Way of Love”.

The reporting in the Herald is in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church on social and political charity and on each Catholic’s mission as an adherent of the faith.

Ultimately, the interpretation of what constitutes religious matters should be left to the leaders and adherents of the faith in question. The Home Ministry is not in a position to dictate to Catholics (or for that matter, the proponents of any other faith) the scope of their religion.

The Catholic Lawyers’ Society of Kuala Lumpur calls on the Home Ministry to withdraw its warning and “show cause” letters and maintain the Herald’s publishing permit.

Wonder which religion asks its followers to only concentrate on the spiritual and godly things and disregard his life or his surroundings?

Religion has always been the conscience of society and men who seems to play 'God' or worse behave like 'Gods'. Religion has also been agents of change and has been 'king makers' as well as 'destroyer of empires.' So to tell the Catholic Church or worse threated it to keep their religion confined to churches and interests only to the Bible (with the execption of Bahasa version not encouraged to be read too I supposed) is like asking the Pope to watch out or your followers will get prosecuted or victimised if they don't toe the line of the BN government i.e. UMNO dominated BN government.

To threaten the Church is to threaten God himself but I guess God has more love and compassion to understand the sinner than the other way round.

'Ello al-Jabber the Nut, please check what MSM Malay editions sometimes write about other religions. I think you have more than enough to handle. Issue threats there then you can point a finger at the Catholic Church ok?

Got 'Ong' Or No 'Ong' That is The Question

The influence of numbers has been an age old interest of human civilization. Numbers have important significance especially in the ancient world; its symbolism is evident in the holy books. The numbers are revelations like keys to unlock the mysteries of the past, to understand the present, decide one’s fate or a peek into the future. Code breakers who are able to decipher these numbers may also be able to even read or understand the Gods – a kind of privileged dialing to the heavens or the underworld too.

These few months, the number game seems to be used in very high stake events in BolehLand - no not the ToTos, Magnums or the social welfare. If one looks at the significant events in the past, one would note an alchemy of magical number associated with personalities and events that has a bearing on our lives and may change the landscape of the nation.

Is it coincidental that these events seem to fall on some specific date in which the number has some symbolic meanings or is it a planned move to link these events to certain dates to ward of 'superstitious beliefs' or receive the 'blessings' and fortunes bestowed on these symbolic numbers to the 'actors'- like what our ancestors believed and did.

If this is deliberate, then our religious brethens are believing in the mambo jumbo power of numbers and letting heaven or even the underworld and as we often hear 'fate' to take care of the rest? If that being the case like the ancient Chinese emperor believed that 'tien' (heaven) decided one's fate, no point trying to salvage your kingdom!

'0' or zero the most important and probably powerful digit in the numbering system (we love lots of zeros after our payslip right?), without which the numerical system will only reach 1 to 9 and stop theres. Thanks to the Arabs? for completing the sequence for the single digit. But convention dictates '0' or 'zero' can also mean 'nothing', 'meaningless', 'no thing'. Not 'love' as in some racket games which is rather humiliating to get this 'love' or 'egg'.

We know '3' and '8' and to an extent '5' (Hokkien) are ‘ong’ (lucky) numbers to the Chinese community having to do with ‘life and prosperity’ while '4' seems the unlucky one though if you repeat it another intonation like in Hakka it can mean ‘all you life’ '1448' can either be a blessing or a crush depending on how you say it. I’m ok with '1448' as I take it to mean ‘all my life prosperous’ and if you add it 1+4+4+8=1+7=8 it’s the magic ‘8’.

Lift’s or floors don’t have '13' but '12A' or '12B' with some jumping from 12 to 14 which is odd as ‘14’ is not ‘ong’ to the Chinese. The no ‘4’ seems an ‘ong’ to the Malays which sounds like the word ‘dapat’ ‘to get’ 'to receive’ perhaps to be ‘blessed’ where 1448 is good ‘ong’ as you combine the ‘dapat’ with the ‘prosperous’ a mix of both Malay and Chinese luck, double ‘ong’ I supposed.

‘7’ to the Hebrews is the complete or full, the perfect number where God rested after the creation.

It seems in BolehLand, the constellation of numbers and stars determine the fate of its people. Numbers, percentages and dates rule the day. Are the numbers coincidential or are we reading something higher than ourselves that determine our fate rather than determine our destiny by our own volition? If you are Magnum, Damacai or Toto 'kaki' or have placed a bet sometime in your life, you bet that if you add all those number combinations above, one will come true?

The odd thing about numbers is that it is neutral in issues such as justice, truth, equality, fair play, honesty, integrity are principles - these are not confined to any number games and are supposed to be colour, religious or ethnicity blind or neutral.

But these principles are caught in a deadly game of numbers and are not given any priority, ignored and sidelined when the number game is played.

Too often we have heard these justification, 'this race owns ony this percentage of this or that, we need two third majority, there are only now % engineers so there is disparity, this policy needs an extension for another 20 years because we have not achieved the number, this right is preserved under Article number this and that of the Constitution..blah2...

We cannot escape from a single digit in our lives. Our lives are ruled by numbers the moment we are born, our living years, and even after death as the number of your religion's certificate determine which heaven or God you belong too.. how sad.

Is our destiny determined by correctly reading the oracles and numbers or are we masters of our own destiny?

Understandably insular Thinking Mentality

It tickles me to read of the hu-hah over the call by this Khalid fello to UiTM to open its doors to allow non-bumiputera to study there.

Now there are three issues in BolehLand that is a no-no and taboo to discuss – Race, Religion and Culture but that depends on what group you are referring to and who is discussing them.

To me, it’s a non-issue. Let them continue to seek security using taxpayer's money to maintain their exclusivity, so be it. If they feel they are better people in a homogeneous setting, let them be. If they believe that preserving a singular ethnic environment is their solution to being progressive and able to compete, let them be. If like minds produce genius and purity, let them be. Yes, many of their graduates have succeeded and it goes to show that even if you come from such a 'privileged' institution, you still can achieve success. Let's live in reality in BolehLand because many Malay institutions have not crumbled without being 'Malaysia-nised' and have done well, so don't be bias that UiTM and all the MARA and Malay Colleges will not do well.

So I hope the PKR is not trying to score political points and let Malay institutions crumple easily like a deck of cards if you 'taint' its purity by injecting 'foreign elements' and third-class citizens in them. It won't work, the sentiments are for strengthening racism not encouraging multi-culturalism or plurality.

Why would anyone want to be admitted to an academic institution that looks upon others as ‘aliens’ and seemingly 'lack of confidence' and probably made to feel intimidate or forced to adopt the same group think mentality. My experience as an undergraduate in a local university (no I financed my own even though my family was lower middle class) at the height of the NEP was to be reminded by some lecturers of the ‘second-class, alien status’ I am and my staple food is only babi making me an infidel- though I eat less of such cuisine than some my sons-of-the-soil frens who loved and consumed more in a week than I do in a year!!!! Ok those target with this racial profiling swallowed our pride and got the better of the lectures by playing along their game.

So one wonders if anyone would want to apply to a university who will label one less ‘a Malaysian’ more an infidel and worse looked upon with suspicions of trying to take away their rights and an enemy that is out to suppress them and keep them from progressing.

So I see no wrong if UiTM is the only hope to those who are unable to get admitted in other institutions of higher learning that are merit-based!

So UiTM, keep your doors closed, live in your insular world, yes, enjoy the security among like-minded same thinking intellectuals, it won’t affect the other Malaysians believe me because as water finds its own channel to flow, students will find the best avenue to improve themselves, the one that flows to UiTM probably isn’t one route they would want to choose.

Interesting to note that in UiTM there is a Wacana Artikel 153 slotted for 21 August 2008 on the topic : Kedudukan Istimewa Orang Melayu (Special Position of the Malays?). Now why would such a topic be of interest especially if this institution is a bastion of their 'ketuanan'?. Why the need to remind, reinforce, inculcate or is it a reorientation (read 'brainwashing') when they are already from birth being reminded of the immutable rights and privileges as constitutionally guaranteed? One can guess what will be said at this forum and we hope it is not an exercise to hurl racial slurs against other Malaysians or your own kind.

So with such programs, UiTM entraps itself in its own time warp of an 'Understandably insular Thinking Mentality syndrome all in the name of preserving itself as the stronghold of Malay and bumiputra students to further their studies. Or is it Terrible Mentality who clings to a piece of article to preserve its 'Berlin Wall' status.

For those of us who had to survive on our own, such discussions are meaningless because we couldn't and most didn't even wanted to depend on our race, religion or culture to be who we are or where we are today. So if MCA organise programs now to extol me to preserve my Chinese-ness to ensure my success and survivability in life, I’d tell them "No thank you". Call me ungrateful SOB but I'd be proud that I made it on my own developing my own capabilities and not hand-outs or my Chinese-ness is the factor or has anything to do with my success. It's my acceptance to the fact that I am the one who should be solely responsible for success or failure and to work towards my objectives even if the environment seemed challenging.

But make no mistake that if UNITAR is asked to change its curriculum to the national language and increase intake of a particular ethnic group, we will get a replay of the UiTM incident. Goes to show what BolehLand has sadly become- sigh!

If 'necessity is the mother of invention', I supposed one needs to be inventive as a necessity to survive affirmative action policies and programs.

We now know change can only come from within not your own kind as clearly demonstrated in this fiasco by someone from the same group. So is there hope in BolehLand that you can be an agent of change by being on the same side of the fence? Nope because timing seems the decisive factor now. So when can we expect change then? "Ello be like me stop wasting my time waiting and get on with living my life and moving forward."

So after this incident, may we add Education as another taboo that is a sensitive contentious issue? Even deciding on the language for science and maths in school is a potential timebomb.

Rather than deemed race, religion, culture and education as sensitive and banned for discussions, these taboo topics should be banned from being used at all in so many areas of our society for Malaysia to be a truly progressive, democratic and just society.

In recent months, BolehLand has been assaulted by a sudden rise in religious fervor or is it a fever? I guess it’s more a fever because fevers have been know to cause rational minds to behave irrationally, with some seeking rather unscientific remedies to cure oneself- the most common being invoking God to rescue them from a ‘guilt’ complex, or infecting others that cause them to develop a common mob mentality, with some venting their frustrations of their migraine with violent behaviour mostly expressed by screaming racial slur.

One KopiBoi found out that his fever was not brought about as a result of a natural constipation phenomena but rather got it in an ‘unnatural’ manner from an old familiar sore...opps I mean source.

The fever pitch was raised even a bar or two higher at an aborted legal gathering made illegal, while some were given special and quickie dispensation of justice to hold rallies to protest against a brethren whose remarks got them headstrong to stick to traditional status-quo medication to safeguard them from being infected or invaded by ‘alien virus races’.

The latest religious fever is comparing the by-election to an epic biblical battle between good and evil in this case the MSM who has 'cannonised' this Arif fello to an ‘alim’ (holy man), a saintly figure who posses everything noble, friendly, multilingual, virtuous, a God-Like 'future' King David out to slay Goliath, the greedy warmonger giant.

I guess BN really got intelligence because having constantly reminded voters that they are the David, the underdog, they have chosen a candidate that is aligned to the biblical David as future King. So don't be surprised that they selected a ‘King’ ('Shah' in Arabic is 'King')? to do battle with Goliath. So perhaps it’s rightly so a battle royale, mother of all by-elections, a GodLike David vs Goliath encounter, because this Anwar fello is behaving like a ‘king’ waging war on all fronts, rear included!

By now we know who this Shah fello is and if we are to keep to BN’s promise that it NEVER allows a candidate to hold two seats, I guess the voters in P.Pauh should preserve their status-quo, let this convention stay and ensure our Arif remains holding one seat only right?

But given the gomen’s might of its spin wheel machinery, aided by their ever supportive MSM, it is ironical to believe their 'David' is the ‘underdog’! If recent report of the enormous millions of ringgit spent on the 2004 election by BN is any measure of their ringgit might, it would not be a surprise if they have a huge war chest as well as an armada of VIPs including their powder-puffed tai-tais to woo voters and spending all their energies on PP than focusing on running the country!

So with such advantages, one wonders if our 'Goliath' is not the underdog instead. And with the powder-puffed ladies waging a jihad and the Shah portrayed as a 'messiah' holywood image of good guy, Goliath should be worried because they have 'God' on their side and is doing a Nostradamus on the outcome of the by-election.

One should not be surprised even if the David tai-tai’s jihad promise a suci (holy) campaign, the voters will be constantly reminded of the pretender to the throne fondness for rear views and that this GoLiwat, oh I mean Goliath should not be elected. So don't be surprised too if their slingshots will be erotica and muck. The ‘liwat’ issue may well be that pebble to knock and defeat this ‘GoLiwat’.

Given the odds stacked against Goliath, and if the BN calculations are corret, their prophetic Shah will win and the by-election is more a DeathBlow to GoLiwat conclusion.

But, if their scribes misinterpreted the 'holy texts' and David misread the sentiments of March 8, their ‘alim’ future king Shah's challenge may turn out to be a GoLiwat triumph over a Deadwood!

As a beloved statesman whom many younger generation knew no other PM but him, it's setting a bad example. Doesn't this attitude amount to being a 'traitor' too?

If one has not done wrong, there is nothing to fear right? Did we migrate when we didn't agree to policies under the 'M" administration? Did those who were 'ISA-ed' migrated after being released. Did his nemesis migrate after having suffered the first 'S' and now the second 'S' is looming in his plan to the throne? If he is 'Memang' clean, Tun should have no fear of any 'witch-hunting'. To adopt a flight to safety strategy than fight to preserve one's honour or what one believes in is I suppose a cowardly act.

Taksin just took an easy way out - migrated without permission as he feared the allegations against him can be proven true?- means guilty?

At least the ladies are going to show what sportswomenship is like unlike our brader Sports Minister recent boo-boo on the SUKMA thingy. But in one kilat (lightning) stroke and in a puff of breath, powder-puff Shahrizat paints an Armageddon picture of destruction, instability to the political stability and prosperity of the country and portray the contender as a selfish, greedy with malevolent traits bend on becoming the PM at the expense of the people’s welfare and the country’s stability.

So much for the 'suci-ness' of the campaign with their negative profiling of the pretender to the throne.

Why the need to 'jihad-ise' a by-election campaign? If the federal gomen thinks the pretender to the throne is a threat, lock him up quickly, don't bother about his conspiracy theories and do all of us a favour and spare us from 'hell' as you make us believe him to create if his grand scheme of things work!

Perhaps our over-powdered puffed ladies should also have jihad campaigns against those, especially men, who do not pay support to the other party in divorced cases or when marrying more than one wives, or corruption in the civil service, some bad cops lately, the corporate world, abuses and acts of violence against women, wives, mothers, children and a whole list of malpractices and abuse of power reported daily in MSM.

Isn't it inappropriate or even hypocritical to connect a religious cause to a by election campaign? Why wasn't it a jihad against the opposition in the last election? I think humility is called for to look at your own sanctuary and purge it using the cry of jihad against all those who 'sin' against the people by mismanagement, discrimination, excesses, wastage, abuse of power, avarices and extravagances.

By using jihad are you evoking a 'war-mongering' mentality and attitude? What is your reason to evoking this jihad? Perhaps to appeal to the kampung folks that you are the suci party and the other the syaitan? (devil). Perhaps to cheekily remind ordinary folks that the contender indulges not only in sinful un-Islamic acts but also acts against nature?

So these tai-tais' winning formula? Just a dash of honey coated 'religious jihad', add in doses of spicy tales of sinful copulation against nature, and everything nice about themselves and a pour out a special chemical of sordid sex revelations, you have the powdered-puff ladies to win the hearts and minds of BolehLanders against the 'dark forces' of evil?

BN To Wrest Permatang Pauh To Up Development For People - BUKIT MERTAJAM, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional (BN) will have to wrest Permatang Pauh from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in this upcoming by-election as this parliamentary constituency is in dire need of proper infrastructure and development. For the past 10 years, Permatang Pauh has not seen much progress except for Seberang Jaya, which boasts a well-integrated township initiated by the Barisan Nasional government to boost the administrative, residential, industrial and commercial sectors of Malaysia's northern region. Tuesday, 12 August 2008.

This is a sad reality of politics in BolehLand, where taxpayers from states not controlled or seats won by the present ruling federal government, BN which is UMNO dominated, are victimized of development funds and basic upgrading facilities. This ‘Winner-Takes-all’ mentality is more like a ‘Sore-Loser-Mentality’ akin to a master-slave relationship where elected representatives behave like masters and the citizens relegated to hamba, slaves or servants.

Isn't democracy supposed to be if one recalls correctly, ‘For the People, By the People and With the People’. But in BolehLand which touts itself as moving to be a first class developed economy is still clinging on to a Third-World, feudalistic way of governance. Elected gomen politicians’ understanding of democracy is more a ‘For What the People?’ 'Bye-bye the People' (during campaigning it's 'Buy-buy the People') and rule ‘Without the People’ attitude. It’s like giving them the keys to the country’s Treasury and they using it for only those who elected them or for themselves.

We seem to be proud to showcase the underdeveloped areas under ‘opposition’ representatives and rule. We seem to be proud to tell the people in those areas that they deserve what they got? We seem to enjoy seeing the suffering and miseries of these neglected areas. Stop using the citizens as pawns in your sadistic games. We console ourselves that there is poverty and hardcore not of our making but the citizens are to be blamed for not keeping to their part or playing their role in our game of 'political or social contract'?

It is sickening after so many Malaysia Plans, Industrial Master Plans, OPPs and opening of Corridors, there are areas earmarked to remain a 1960’s environment. Are we being told that these programmes are only good for areas controlled by the party that control the federal gomen? What hypocrisy to tell BolehLanders that billions are allocated for development but in reality they are only a reward for those who elected them. This selfish and unjust behaviour must change. Isn’t it unIslamic to deprive the citizens of development? The federal gomen seems to forget those who elected for their candidate! So it now becomes collective blame?

Count their lucky starts people of Putrajaya that the winner is from the side of development. Horror of horrors should an opposition wins. Will the highways and public utilities be neglected? Will we see Kuala Lumpur degenerating into a Permatang Pauh?

Let’s not have any more grandiose plans and shout to the world how developed and how forward looking our development programmes are when during a by-election, citizens are reminded of the consequences if they don’t vote for the ruling party? Yeh, they will remind us it’s a ‘political game’ of ‘you do my behind, I do your behind’ – a blatant mother of all blackmails to the poor ordinary citizens.

It’s hypocritical to champion yourself as ketuanan and defender of a particular ethnic group and as a favour the rest for good measure and then practice a ‘discriminatory’ policy towards the very people you claim to protect right?

Please do not blackmail the citizens with threats of undevelopment or neglect and force them to develop a subservient mentality where citizens are turned into looking like beggars awaiting crumbs of charity at the whims and fancy of those in power?

Can we stop f**king around this VD scourge, Vote for Development Disease to coerce the citizens from exercising their maturity in choosing the candidate that share their sentiments. Perhaps they are not interested in the bright city lights or flashy houses, perhaps they appreciate more intangible values such as justice, equality, fairness, clean, trustworthy, noble and honest personality over materialism? March 8 did present a ray of hope that all the millions spent on the 'feel-good' advertisement blitz was just that, a temporary emotional high that BolehLanders didn't buy easily. So stop spreading the VD scare around because the end result people get turned off by your disease and you in turn become impotent and useless to anyone except the only probably thing you do is getting pissed off by your own doing.

It is sad that chauvinism, racism, bigotry and hypocrisy will surface and the arrogance of those holding the purse is going to once again be displayed in full force in Permatang Pauh. Already the MSM and gomen’s controlled broadcasting network are putting on their spin stories of ‘Santa Claus’ who will know who is naughty or nice to receive their presents after the election. But we know Santa Claus doesn’t exist right?

It's a political game and in all games, cheating, dirty tricks and hard tackles and rules will be broken. For now let's just sit back and watch the game.

According to one of the sports council website, "SUKMA is one of the National sports events jointly organised by the National Sports Council, National Federation, State Government and State Sports Council. Malaysia Games or Sukan Malaysia; or SUKMA in short, is a bi-annual games with multi-sports events.

The main objective of SUKMA is to discover young talents from state levels, training them to National levels and give encouragement and exposure toward total involvement in sports and toward International preparation.

Increase National integration
To encourage and improve sports administration
Sports as part of Malaysians’ culture and to improve health and quality of lifestyles
To encourage active involvement in sports from State government
To encourage building and maintenance of sports facilities for training and competitions purposes

It is disturbing to read if it's true as reported in The Sun, Aug 11, 2008 that the Ministry of Youth and Sports? has not invited, (excluded) the five states under Pakatan adminsitration from the SUKMA meeting.

The Youths and Sports Ministry has the power to show his sense of fair play, but No, it decided to be a prejudice sore loser prick and continue with victimising the people this time the sportsmen and sportswomen of these five states. Taking the cue from that wo-MAN's behavior in the tourism industry is it? Maybe he has no idea of what SUKMA is all about and turned it into his wishes (Suka-Hati) Games?

One would have thought bad sportsmanship and rough play is confined to the playing field. No, the BN gomen is doing it on the grandstand itself!

Is the gomen telling us that the SUKMA objectives are so noble PROVIDED your state is under BN rule? So the sportsperson in the five states under Pakatan are all pariahs unworthy of any opportunity to participate in sports or are given third class treatment. Going to ban them or will it lead to Pakatan States boycotting the event! So can we expect the games in Malacca in 2010 will be like an annual school sports event!

Why don’t they exclude all the sportspersons from these states as well as from FT KL (since 99% of MPs are Pakatan) in national sports?

The Torch of Discrimination

So the victimization continues and if the gomen thinks that these small sabotage schemes will not go unnoticed or will just be ignored by the citizens, they will be 'red-carded' out in the next game. If the Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob continues to show the behaviour of his wo-MAN counterpart in the Tourism Ministry, displaying the sore-loser sour grapes behaviour again it will be off-the-field in the next round.

Shame on you for placing such obstacles and politics into sports. After all, the gomen is using taxpayers money so why the discrimination? If you wish to be consistent, be consistent, if SUKMA is only confine to BN states, then it should also apply to any national sporting events, football, hockey blah2. So you saber-happy brader if you apply the rule of exclusion, be consistent in your bigot behaviour not selective discrimination ok?

So another Council to oversee a Cabinet Committee on Anti-Inflation and the National Anti-Inflation council to tackle inflation and the various effects of a global economic slowdown

They haven't resolve the Judiciary thingy yet and probably they had a Committee for the MRR2 and look what happened to the MRR2 committee headed by the same voodoo guy and his team of crackpots that can’t resolve the crack issues...and now this Anti Anti Anti Council

During the financial crisis in 1997, we had the National Economic Action Council and God knows how many other council, and harta-committees and subcommittees we created.

If we added them all together, not a cm of BolehLand will be left uncovered by these councils. We'd have more agencies that the UN!. Aren't we over council-ed and comittee-d to death already

There is more logic in chaos than the number of Councils/Committees Created By the Government

Each time such a council is formed, it will be a ‘high-powered’ team, headed by this and that Minister. If you examine the league of gentlemen in this latest ‘Anti-inflation’ Council, you will notice they are almost similar people who sat in the other thousand and one committees each time a crisis strikes this land which means nothing much is going to happen.

The same bunch of guys who would come up with probably similar old policies that got us in the present mess. The business people in the council are those who squeeze every dime they can from consumers… You have bankers (incidentally the No.1 bank chief is left out) and business tycoons who have made their millions and lost millions of taxpayers money too!

Given the government fondness of forming committees and jawatankuasa, I guess you’d need a lifetime or a PhD to sieve through the number of such setting-ups of this or that the government has set up to set us all up that something is being done… more an after-thought, pee-firefighting effort than a concrete long-term plan. It’s probably easier to make sense of fussy logic and more order in chaos than trying to decipher the number of set-ups being set-up by the government.

We are submerged already with other woes and creating one more council just increases the confusion of who will listen to what is proposed. Already the type of bureaucracy we face to open up a business, renew a licence, even renovate your home is already a chore. So who gonna listen to this Council? It's going to be finger pointing again if recommendations are not implemented.

And what is the point of setting up Councils if we keep blaming our mess on external factors as well as a sodomite. Forming this Council is like telling us that our elected representatives are not fit to solve the issues so goes to show the competency of our Ministers or the Cabinet guys to take care of us. They might as well appoint the private sector to be Cabinet Ministers.

Maybe if they listen to the ordinary man in the street, they will get better practical ideas to get us out of the mess than to circulate the same bunch of filthy rich men, chauffer driven people (ok a few may not be that privileged) who may not have even experienced what it is to be hungry to come up with solutions for the hungry citizen.

Came across a rather ridiculous effort by the International Herald Tribune (IHT) to be politically correct for a monetary reason turning them to be graffiti artists on some of the greatest works in their 'Art' Section.

Roderick C. Morris', article on ‘Correggio’s blend of sensuality and innocence’ (IHT, July 26-27. 2008) showed two of this Italian High Renaissance artist's works, “The Assumption of the Virgin” and "The Rape (Abduction) of Ganymede”.

Those familiar with these masterpieces may notice a tinge of nudity, the two works as Morris' title correctly showed did not appear anything close to being erotic. But the IHT's edition being printed in Kuala Lumpur and sold here must subscribe to local sensitivities I supposed which resulted in the Virgin wearing a bra and Ganymede the local version of a one piece swimwear!.

Even Souren Melikian’s article on Christie’s sale of a Lucian Freud’s artwork, “Benefits Supervisor Sleeping,” received a rather welcome two piece swimsuit to cover an otherwise rather grotesque physique of an obese nude sleeping beauty – this act of vandalism a saving grace I suppose! :D

Mind you, it is an insult to the readers of IHT, who I’m sure aren’t those with runaway hormones, such dudes I'm sure would prefer scanning cyberworld or seek any dubious corners of any city in BolehLand to satisfy their gratification, than to scan the IHT on the lookout for cheap thrills erotica when they can get live action elsewhere!

Or, maybe in BolehLand, we have youngsters who are fervent readers of IHT that warrants such censorship, which would surely be good news to the folks in IHT. More readership means more money right? Get real!!! It’s often old sods and those clinging to the vestiges of the British Empire and who still believes ‘Brits is still Best’ will care to read the IHT- though I do confess it’s at least a better read than our mainstream media.

What's the point of getting agitated?

So finally Coffee Wonder Boy has communicated with us with a new blog! and telling us of his Caffine-venture with the pretender to the throne. And like all superheroes you must have a good tag line to save the world right? So it's not surprising his tagline in his blog is for God, Relgion, Race and Country (Demi Allah, Agama, Bangsa dan Negara)

So give him the benefit of doubt that it’s him and his blog? The hint is probably in his three whirlwind adventures in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore as well as keeping track of some amphibians which may jump out of the box anytime. Now we like to see the P.Pauh contender deny these dates and of course his duties!

Gosh couldn't this back problem seasoned old man just ordered his coffee at those places than the need to bring this coffepot... opps I mean coffee boy along? Besides, why at his age does he need a Coffee Boy for. "Hey Dato' Sri caffine not good for your health right?

Who said that you need rocket science GP grade to make a cup of kafe. And boy I think his coffee must have tasted darn good and his reward is a really BIG TIP of overseas trip and made a personal ASS-istant in the process and who turned out to be an ass in an instant! Noone till now is certain if the employer had more than just a sip of his coffee?

Besides, serving coffee, he even gets to be some sexy terrier duties in time management!!! Woff Woof! sad the employer couldn’t spot a chi hua-hua (oh no a poodle would be too gracious to call this canine beast) from a rottweiler.

Makes us wonder, why the employer thought he was a barista whose latte or mocha keeps one awake all night. And given what is happening today it may turn out to be the case of just a sip from the shot he brewed, has turned things into a nightmare for the coffeeboy... I mean coffee addict and possible shot down his grandiose dreams and the nation included I suppose.

So let this be a lesson to all those who think their Coffeeboi or Tea Lady is an idiotic, university drop-out and moron who is only good at stirring some beverage for your delights. This fello has shown us he is a hot coffeepot and can stir up more than a storm in a coffee or teacup.

So our Coffee Boy Wonder and his brew has added spoonfuls of scandals and agony to BolehLand and in weeks to come, we shall need more cups of kopi, kafe, nescafe, and other overpriced cup of café’ caffeine to keep us awake (not watching performances at an egg-shell in Beijing mind you) but on the episodes of this coffeepot, whose concoction may prove too strong for our liking keeping us hypnotic, giddy and developing migraine attacks from all the expose he is going to reveal. Not forgetting the over spilled froth of unimaginable conspiracy theories that stained our minds and our innocence.

Received this and if such a circular was indeed circulated, it shows the insecurity of these graduates who need to bring up and play the 'racial card' to preserve their 'ketuanan'. Not sure if this fello is a 'pure' bumiputra as the names sound kinda indon. I'm no expert in establishing the 'tulin-ness' (purity) of this 'son-of-the soil'.

Well Malaysians being Malaysians whose love to gripe which is like second nature to their obsession for rumours which is also on par with their love of shopping will be the selfish lot before God to demand that their woes be attended to first, before others! Heartless TRIO SCUMS

As if events in BolehLand is not depressing these days and to read of this bizzare case of the children's welfare home Rumah Kasih in SS3 had their brand new RM100,000 Nissan Urvan stolen by three SELFISH armed robbers. The NST reported Monday July 28, 2008 that the armed robbers apologized profusely for robbing these poor kids of their means of transport.

Till today, these SCUMS have not been apprehended and I hope that the public would assist to bring these HEARTLESS CRIMINALS to justice.

I think it would not be difficult for the public to spot a gold-coloured 15-seater Nissan Urvan with the registration number WQY 1861 and the words Rumah Kasih on the sides. Ihope the MSM can publish the picture of the van.

Got this from the web of a model of a Nissan Urvan. color same not sure the rest of it.

I hope our competent police can check CCTVs of petrol stations to see if they can spot this van and the culprits or motor repair shops or neighbours to report to the police if they find some suspicious character trying to strip off the sign!!!

For such crime stories that breaks our heart, the radio station could have done their bit for the community more and continuously broadcast an appeal for the public to help trace these culprits. Sadly, I haven’t heard from the radio stations yet, not the 92.9 or 105.7 stations i tune in to. Can some TV station and bloggers who work for the broadcasting station do some social community service and help out.

Can we also appeal to the insurance company to help compensate the home out of goodwill and expedite payment to enable them to buy a new van. Or, can the government allow them to buy another new van cheaper sans tax. For such good cause Malaysians seem to response slow though we are a charitable lot when natural disaster strikes.

But Kudos to a committee member of the home who has lent the Home his eight-seater MPV. Our silent heroes.

I like to do something and would contribute if someone starts a fund. Anyone can help? I'd make a call to the number and see how I can do my bit. No I don't have a van to donate. Maybe Terengganu can donate the Mercs if they need to be auctioned off! :D. Fat hopes thinking I supposed.

Talking about stolen cars, two friends related their success stories recovering their stolen cars. One had his CLK nicked outside his home in Petaling Jaya. Lady luck on his side when the car was found in Penang a few months later more by serendipity when car repossessors employed by the finance company matched the number sandblasted on the windows against their list. The number plate was of course change. He didn’t realize it until the finance company called him to repay his loan if he wants the car back. He repaid of course and was happy to get his Super, I mean his Compact Light Kancil back intact!

Another was really a surreal case, more akin to a PIMP MY RIDE episode. The Honda was stolen and when it was found, the hi-system was upgraded, interior refurbished and the car was given a PIMP, new body kit and the works and the owner was more than happy to get back the car.

I pray that for the Home, the van will be found or Malaysians respond to help the Home. If the trio are apprehended, it's time like this hudud law is a saving grace to mete out punishment. Or ask them paint the Home and send the kid's laundry for them to wash in jail!

More 'Gates' in Oil-gannu

Seems these days Oil-gannu (pardon if it sounds like bat dung but by the looks of what's happening there smells and looks like it!) is embroiled in controversies and a number of ‘Gates’ have sprung up the latest. The bravo Terengganu MB make a dare, more a piss-off remark I should say to the gomen specifically to our ‘soon to retire PM, and the chosen one for directing his 14 Mercs to be only for ‘official use’.

KUALA TERENGGANU: The authorities should investigate if there was graft in other high-profile projects in Terengganu and not just the issue of high cost of maintaining official cars, said Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said.
He said the Anti-Corruption Agency should not be selective and should also conduct investigations into projects like the prestigious Monsoon Cup sailing event and the Islamic Civilisation Park.
»The ACA should be transparent by also going after the ‘big’ cases.
In an immediate response, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said this was up to the ACA. “If the ACA finds reasons to initiate investigations into them because there is suspicion of elements of corruption, it is up to the ACA to decide,” he told reporters after the National Academic Awards 2007 in Kuala Lumpur.
Ahmad Said, in a press conference here yesterday, said the two projects he named were “only the tip of the iceberg”. “I am a controversial figure, I will expose more, but the ACA should be transparent by also going after the ‘big’ cases.
“Don’t only go after Mad (Ahmad Said). Investigate the Monsoon Cup and Islamic Civilisation Park, too,” he said.
When asked if he believed there were elements of corruption in the two projects, Ahmad replied: “That’s for the ACA to investigate.”
Ahmad said the ACA had been quick to investigate the high service costs for Proton Perdana cars when he proposed buying Mercedes Benz as state cars, and asked that it also cast its eyes on other cases, like the Monsoon Cup.
The Monsoon Cup, managed by a state-owned company, offers the highest prize money in the world for a sailing competition. The annual event was inaugurated in 2005, and this year’s edition is scheduled for November. Since its debut the event has been criticised by its opponents as wasteful and not benefiting the people.
The Islamic Civilisation Park is part of a project under the East Coast Economic Region to boost Kuala Terengganu as a waterfront city. The park is divided into two zones: the Islamic Civilisation Complex and the Public Zone.
